The Mash-Up Americans is a cultural start-up created by Amy S. Choi and Rebecca Lehrer in 2013. The goal of The Mash-Up Americans is to understand what it means to be a modern, mixed-background American. Topics like relationships, self-identity, food and pop culture are addressed with playful but relatable language, using a contemporary and non-gender specific aesthetic. I assisted Nikki Chung, the Principal Designer and owner ofOnce & Future, with the identity and website for The Mash-Up Americans, focusing on logo development. We created workflows and wireframes for the homepage and interior pages, eventually choosing a photo-based grid with a clear hierarchy.
